Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany says the pressure on the club to win all their remaining games should bring confidence.

Speaking after City beat Crystal Palace 3-1 on Sunday, Kompany admitted his side must take maximum points from their final five games to lift the Premier League trophy.

It would see City become the first team in ten years to retain the title, ahead of a quality Liverpool side who could potentially win 97 points and still not win the league.

But the pressure put on City from Jurgen Klopp's side is something that can bring out the best in the Blues, according to Kompany, who says the entire club is focused on doing whatever is necessary to lift the title on May 12.

"We had six games to play, now five games to play and it was the same type of battle between two teams [against Crystal Palace].

That focus is something that should reassure fans, rather than worry them, Kompany says.

"It’s a priority on everyone’s mind, and that should give confidence rather than nerves.
