Blues 'tracking Donnarumma'

Reports in Italy suggest Chelsea are monitoring AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma with Frank Lampard unconvinced over Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Photo: GettyThe Spaniard lost his place as the Blues' first-choice stopper after a series of below-par displays, with Willy Caballero placed in goal before Kepa returned to the line-up.

But Calciomercato report Lampard is keen to find another stopper, with Donnarumma, 21, on his list of targets, while Burnley's Nick Pope has also been linked to the west London outfit.

Grealish urged to join Man Utd

Former Aston Villa striker Emile Heskey has urged the club’s captain Jack Grealish to join Manchester United this summer.

Grealish has been one of the Premier League’s stars of the season despite Villa facing a relegation battle, and helped them reach the EFL Cup final last month.

The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a summer transfer to Old Trafford to join Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, and Heskey believes it would be a good move all round.

“I think Jack Grealish would do well at Manchester United,’ Heskey told GentingBet. “He’s a commanding midfielder and the kind that they’ve missed recently.

“They have it now in Fernandes but having another one alongside him who could drive from the midfield – that’s Jack all over.

“But Jack can play in several different positions very well. He would do very well at Manchester United.”

Jesus agent refuses to rule out Juve move

The agent of Gabriel Jesus has refused to rule out speculation linking the Manchester City striker with a move to Juventus.

Photo: ReutersThe Brazilian has scored 18 goals in all competitions this season despite a low number of starts for City and is seen by many as Sergio Aguero's long-term successor.

But agent Giovanni Branchini says the 22-year-old could be tempted by a move to Juventus, admitting "everything is possible".

He told Calciomercato: "We are talking about a great footballer and a great club, everything is possible.

"I am convinced that he will stay at City as long as City want him, as long as the team wants to maintain a certain type of profile.

"The only hypothesis I see is that if the owners should reduce their commitment or ambitions – which I don’t think will happen – he will accept the farewell, but he will never want to leave."

Pedro: My wish is to stay at Chelsea

Chelsea winger Pedro says he wants to stay at Chelsea but admits his future is uncertain with his contract set to expire in the summer.

Photo: GettyThe 32-year-old was quoted by several outlets claiming he had decided to terminate his contract. But the Spaniard clarified his remarks and says he was misquoted in his interview with Cadena SER.

"As many people know, my contract is up in May," the winger told Chelsea's official website. "But I still haven't spoken to the club about whether or not it will be renewed and whether I'll carry on.

"I've seen loads of messages from Chelsea fans saying goodbye and thanking me for the time I've spent here, which I appreciate, but I'd like to tell all the fans simply that my current contract is coming to an end but I still have to talk to the club.

"I don't know whether I'll keep playing here or not. That conversation is still to come. But I have not signed for any other club. I belong to Chelsea. I have a contract.

"My wish is to be able to stay here but obviously we don't know what will happen. I have to speak to the club and let's see what happens."

CRYSTAL PALACE NEWS

Crystal Palace transfer update

In our Crystal Palace Q&A earlier today, our reporter Jack Rosser answered questions on who the Eagles could target to add to their squad this summer. Here's what he said...

Photo: Getty"Palace remain very confident of landing Nathan Ferguson - who will be available on a free when his contract comes to an end this year - after his move from West Brom collapsed in January following complications over his medical.

"Furthermore, they'll want to add some firepower up top having added Cenk Tosun before losing him to injury. The club have been keen on the Turkish striker for a number of years and could return for him should a full recovery be made, but they'll certainly be looking at other options.

"A wide forward was also considered in January and remains a position in which the club would like to strengthen. An enquiry was made over Ebere Eze at QPR in January but taken no further while they have long been admirers of Ollie Watkins at Brentford. Whether the Bees gain promotion or not will play a big part in any move there."

LIVERPOOL NEWS

Reds eye Valencia starlet

Liverpool are hoping to beat several clubs to the signing of Valencia starlet Ferran Torres by landing him on a free transfer next summer.

The 20-year-old has become a key part of the first team under Albert Celades and his performances have attracted attention from Real Madrid and Barcelona.

But Corriere dello Sport believe the Reds are hoping to steal a march on other Interested parties by allowing the Spanish outfit to keep him for another year, before landing the attacking midfielder on a free transfer in 2021.

But Emerson refuted claims made by Tuttosport he was unhappy at Stamford Bridge.

"I don’t speak too much, but here is my only and last statement regarding this news.

"I never said that and I think definitely the opposite of what was mentioned (without my knowledge). Respect and gratitude always. Enjoy your family."

WEST HAM NEWS

Hammers linked with Reds stopper

Liverpool are reportedly looking to offload Loris Karius this summer with West Ham leading the race to sign the German goalkeeper.

The 27-year-old has spent the last 18 months on loan at Besiktas after being replaced as the Reds' number one by Alisson Becker following a series of errors.

West Ham are on the lookout for competition for Lukasz Fabianski after a forgettable spell in goal for deputy Roberto when the Pole was injured and Karius, available for £4.5 million according to Voetbal 24, could fit the bill.

The Scotland international's current deal expires this summer after failing to agree terms on a new contract with the Cherries.

MAN UTD NEWS

Ighalo offered huge deal

This could be bad news for Manchester United... Sky Sports reports that Odion Ighalo has been offered an incredible £400,000-a-week, two-year contract extension by Chinese Super League side Shanghai Shenhua.

Ighalo's fine form for United has led to suggestions that the Red Devils could move to sign him permanently - but that offer from China would dwarf anything United would be prepared to pay.

Ighalo took a pay cut to join United on loan, but that offer will represent a tough choice if the Red Devils come up with a permanent offer as well.

Valverde/Pogba swap deal?

Paul Pogba is never far away from these updates, and he's back again.

Spanish outlet Diario Madridista reports that Manchester United would consider signing Real Madrid youngster Fede Valverde were they to lose Pogba.

Los Blancos rate Valverde highly, but the prospect of signing Pogba could be too big to turn down - and in that case, a swap deal would surely be on the cards.

MAN UTD NEWS

Man Utd should sign Grealish over Maddison
Former Manchester United defender Jonathan Greening has urged the Red Devils to sign Jack Grealish over James Maddison - because the latter is too similar to Bruno Fernandes.

Of the two, Greening told the Metro: "I actually feel I would prefer Jack Grealish.

"Maddison is a very good player, super technical, he can create, great passing both short and long, and great on set plays.

"Jack Grealish, however, has that little bit of difference, he can take players on, he can drive forwards with the ball, and slide that pass through. ‘He’s got that bit of grit and determination; and doesn’t like losing, you can see that in his game.

"Maddison is also maybe a bit too similar to Fernandes, whereas Jack Grealish will bring in something different, he can find pockets of space, he can drive at opponents and take on 2-3 players in one movement.

"He’d be a better player at United with the current squad than Maddison would be for me."

When does the 2020 summer transfer window open?

The summer window opens in England at the end of the season - currently May 18, but that will almost certainly not be when it finishes due to Covid-19 delays.

Players can be officially registered with their new clubs when the Fifa international window opens on July 1.

From January 1 onwards, Premier League players with six months left on their contract have been able to negotiate and agree pre-contract deals with foreign clubs.
