Benjamin Mendy is ready to share his Champions League experiences to help Manchester City through against Tottenham.

I would have preferred to play in the last Champions League game but I am good with this – I heard what the manager said, as I had just played my first game in the FA Cup.

Leonardo Jardim's side appeared surprisingly confident ahead of the second leg but it paid off as they recorded a famous victory, and Mendy is happy to talk through the events and emotions of those games.

Pep Guardiola's side will start the second leg with a one-goal deficit after losing their first game since January last week.

Mendy played his first 90 minutes in over five months in the 3-1 victory over Palace, and is now in contention to start against Tottenham on Wednesday.

“It’s step by step, now I’ve played again, so for Wednesday we will see."

Mendy, along with Bernardo Silva, was part of that dynamic side that made it all the way through to the semi-finals - despite trailing by two goals at the halfway point of their tie with City.
