Manchester City have been banned from the Champions League by UEFA and it could have an impact on the future of Pep Guardiola.

Pep Guardiola to leave Manchester City in the summer 1/5

The punishment will see the Blues banned from all European competition for two years and fined €30million.

UEFA announced on Friday that they had found City to have committed 'serious breaches' of Financial Fair Play and UEFA Club Licensing regulations, as well as not cooperating in the investigation.

Guardiola has recently spoken about his future in relation to the Champions League, albeit seemingly in a light-hearted manner, when he said he could be sacked if the club don't beat Real Madrid in the round of 16 and win the competition.

The Blues boss is 1/5 to leave City in the summer following the decision, according to SportNation, and is 7/2 to stay at the club if the ban is upheld.

City will still appeal the decision through the Court of Arbitration for Sport and a lengthy appeals process could halt the ban from coming into place next season.
