Sergio Aguero is back in contention for Manchester City's Premier League clash with Wolves on Monday night after overcoming a bout of flu.

The Argentine striker was absent from the matchday squads for the 7-0 FA Cup third round win over Rotherham and the 9-0 Carabao Cup semi-final first leg success against Burton Albion.

Aguero came down with illness after the Premier League victory over Liverpool eight days ago, but returned to training on Thursday and is set to start against Wolves at the Etihad.

Vincent Kompany has also missed the last two games as he recovers from two successive Premier League starts, against Southampton and Liverpool.

But like Aguero, the club captain should be available to face Wanderers.

"Sergio was sick after the game against Liverpool, Thursday was the first training session," said Guardiola.

"Vincent is recovering well after the game against Liverpool, he's getting better."
