Anthony Martial is doubtful for Saturday's derby against Manchester City, with Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirming the striker would be out for 'a little while'.

The Frenchman missed Wednesday's 2-1 victory against Tottenham, in which his strike partner Marcus Rashford scored twice in his absence.

After he was substituted 82nd minute during Sunday's draw versus Aston Villa, Solskjaer confirmed he didn't know whether Martial would be fit for this Saturday's match at the Etihad.Asked if Martial would be fit for Saturday, Solskjaer said after the victory against Spurs: 'I'm not sure.

The United boss confirmed the 23-year-old had picked up an injury against Villa.

It's been a tough season for Martial so far, with just three goals in nine Premier League appearances.

In Martial's absence, 18-year-old Mason Greenwood deputised for Martial, with Rashford thriving as he cut in regularly from a position on the left-hand side on Wednesday night.

It was a welcome win for Solskjaer against former United manager Jose Mourinho, ahead of a Manchester derby where the Red Devils go into the clash 11 points behind their city neighbours.
