?Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, believes his side won't win the Premier League if rivals, Manchester City, continue to spend without measure.

I just know the numbers but I don't know why."

"I don't know," Mourinho said when asked how long it would be before United won the Premier League again, as quoted by Goal.

The Red Devils are 18 points behind league leaders City, ahead of this weekend's Premier League fixtures.

United are next in action at home to Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday.

United's bitter rivals, Liverpool, have not won a league title since  1990, and when asked whether United could face a similar drought, the Portuguese replied:  "I don't know what happened in Liverpool.

United, who haven't won the league since 2012/13, finished 19 points behind City, last season, and Mourinho believes  the club's trophy drought could continue unless City stops looting the transfer market.
