Manchester City have joined the race for Barcelona's Nelson Semedo and find themselves up against two of the biggest giants in Europe - Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain. The Spanish champions are alleged to have already turned down a number of summer offers for the 26-year-old, who has made 82 appearances for the club since switching from Benfica in 2017.

According to Mundo Deportivo, no less than five clubs are battling for Semedo's signature.

The Portugal international is reportedly a target for Juventus and could enter a deal which brings Miralem Pjanic to Camp Nou. With former Real Madrid star Danilo failing to flatter in their shared role, Semedo would provide a strong reinforcement for the Serie A rulers.

However, Semedo could be part of the swap deal that sees Inter's Lautaro Martinez join Barcelona. Antonio Conte's side have Antonio Candreva currently in that area of the pitch, but Semedo still has his best years ahead of him.

It's also been reported that as Thomas Meunier’s contract is winding down, PSG could make a swoop for Semedo even if he is not included in a part exchange for Neymar, which looks more unlikely each passing week.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola is reported to have okay'ed a swap move for Semedo with Joao Cancelo going other way. Cancelo has failed to assert himself as a regular starter, and has featured just 11 times in the Premier League with Kyle Walker preferred instead.

Unlike the aforementioned teams, Bayern Munich have no urgent need of a new right back, but it appears that the club are committed to the idea of playing Joshua Kimmich in midfield. Semedo is the fourth right back linked with the Bavarians in the space of a couple of months, following names such as Lukas Klostermann, Joao Cancelo, and Achraf Hakimi.

Cancelo still has five years left on his deal at the Etihad, while Semedo is contracted at the Nou Camp until 2022.

The former Benfica star, 26, has chipped in with five assists in 29 games in all competitions this campaign.
