Man City have taken the opportunity to troll Premier League legend and former Liverpool and Tottenham striker Peter Crouch after he announced his retirement from football on Friday.

Crouch scored a total of five goals in 17 appearances against City.



Crouch replied in similarly jokey fashion and tweeted: "Thanks for the message.

City used that goal to joke with Crouch as they tweeted: 'We'll never forget THAT goal!

Crouch, 38, enjoyed a brilliant career that spanned over 20 years and saw him score 228 goals, become the oldest player to ever reach 100 Premier League strikes, scored 22 times in 42 appearances for England and pioneered the robot dance.

The other came when he played for Stoke City and scored the greatest goal of his career, also against City.
