Manchester United have been encouraged to go back in for Aaron Wan-Bissaka - despite having an initial bid rejected by Crystal Palace, writes James Robson.

It’s believed Palace are holding out for around £60m for Wan Bissaka - but will hope to keep the price down to £50m.

He has told executive vice chairman Ed Woodward United need to alter their transfer strategy and build for the long term.

James - also 21 - and Wan-Bissaka represent that shift in approach, along with Newcastle starlet Sean Longstaff.

Man Utd made their first move for the right back at the start of the month - tabling an offer believed to be in the region of £35million.

But it remains to be seen how high United are prepared to go after growing frustrated by what they believe to be unrealistic premiums on the domestic players on Solskjaer’s wanted list.

Although it was immediately rejected, Old Trafford’s hierarchy were left believing an increased bid could land them one of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s top targets this summer.
