Man City suffer Taylor Harwood-Bellis injury scare as U18s progress in FA Youth Cup

Manchester City have beaten Aston Villa in the FA Youth Cup fourth round with a comfortable 2-0 win at the Academy Stadium.

After scoring his first senior goal against Port Vale in the FA Cup third round, Harwood-Bellis might have been in contention to play against Fulham in the fourth round on January 26, but a hamstring injury would presumably rule him out of action.

Goals from Lewis Fiorini and Morgan Rogers in the opening 15 minutes were enough for City, who set up a fifth round tie at home to Fulham.

However, young defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis, who has featured for the first team this season, was substituted in the second half to provide Pep Guardiola with an injury concern in central defence.

But City held on to set up a home tie with Fulham in the next round as they look to go one better than last season, when they lost the final on penalties to Liverpool.

Garcia was in the crowd to watch his EDS teammates, and City managed fine without him on the pitch as Lewis Fiorini fired them into the lead after just eight minutes.

Harwood-Bellis, who played in the first team wins over Dinamo Zagreb, Oxford United and Port Vale in the last six weeks, limped off holding his hamstring on Wednesday night.
