The prestigious Ballon d'Or award to name the best footballer in the world is being awarded tonight and two Man City players have made the top 10.

Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez have been recognised for their excellent years in which they enjoyed brilliant success for club and country by being named among the best players on the planet.



There was also room in the top 30 for teammates Sergio Aguero, Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling.



Ahead of Tuesday's Premier League clash with Burnley, City manager Pep Guardiola has explained why he has continued to play Fernandinho at centre-back, despite having enough fit defenders.

“I like Dinho playing in that position a lot," Guardiola said.

City will travel to Burnley on Tuesday without the suspended Ilkay Gundogan, after he picked up his fifth booking of the season on Saturday.
