Manchester City have agreed a deal with Everton for the transfer of Fabian Delph for an initial fee of £8.5million.

The squad are preparing to fly off to Asia on pre-season tour this weekend but will be without Delph as he completes his transfer to Everton.

Delph proved to be a useful squad man for City during his time at the club with Pep Guardiola deciding to play the midfielder at left-back a number of times.

The England international signed for City from Aston Villa in 2015 for a similar fee and has one year left on his current deal at the Etihad.

The former Aston Villa man had an injury plagued last season and made just 11 appearances in the Premier League as City retained the title for the first time in their history.

MEN Sport understands City have already agreed a deal, worth up to £10million with add ons, with the Merseyside club and are now just awaiting a formal announcement.

The 29-year-old is City's first big departure this summer and comes following the arrival of club record signing Rodri who City signed for £62million last month.
