How Man City should line-up against Burnley

Man City will be desperate to return to winning ways, following the disappointment of drawing with Newcastle United, when they face Burnley on Tuesday.

City twice took the lead at St. James' Park but were twice pegged back by the Magpies and the 2-2 stalemate resulted in Premier League leaders Liverpool extending their lead on the Blues to 11 points after they won against Brighton.

City only managed to scrape a late 1-0 victory on their last visit to Burnley and this time will have to do it without the suspended Ilkay Gundogan, as well as the injured Sergio Aguero, Aleks Zinchenko, Leroy Sane and Aymeric Laporte.

The suspension of Ilkay Gundogan is almost irrelevant because Rodri would almost certainly have stepped in anyway, to add height to a small City team.

Fernandinho and John Stones shipped a couple of goals as centre backs on Saturday, but Nicolas Otamendi is a big option against the aerial threat of Burnley - but City's best bet is to control the game, as they did last year.

With Liverpool not playing in the Merseyside derby until Wednesday a win is crucial for City to cut the lead and keep the title race alive but it won't be an easy task.
