Thaksin Shinawatra’s spell in charge of Manchester City was short but eventful, with a high turnover of players.

The former Thai Prime Minister arrived in Manchester in June 2007 and sold the club to its current owners just 15 months later, but the number of player exits and arrivals in that period was in double figures.

After a decade at City, Weaver was the first casualty of the takeover when he joined newly-relegated Charlton in July 2007.

Already 34 when he left City, the England international spent just one season in south Wales but helped the Bluebirds reach the FA Cup final.

Since retiring, he’s rejoined former club Sheffield Wednesday as a goalkeeping coach.

It wasn’t just youngsters who moved on, either - plenty of first-teamers ended up elsewhere as part of the reshuffle.

His most recent managerial job, at Doncaster, ended in 2015.
