Napoli have turned down an audacious £50million bid from Atletico Madrid for midfielder Allan, according to reports.

Allan has attracted heavy interest from a host of Europe's top clubs in recent times, with him being the subject of a big-money bid from Paris Saint-Germain in January.

Diego Simeone's side have money in the bank this summer following hefty player sales, including Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona and Rodri to Manchester City. And according to Italian publication Tuttosport, Atletico made a £55m bid for the Brazilian central midfielder.

The offer from the La Liga giants was deemed too low for the Serie A outfit's liking.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is determined to hang on to his biggest stars, and they also recently rejected an £82m bid from Manchester United for Kalidou Koulibaly.

Allan was part of the Brazil squad who lifted the Copa America earlier this summer in their own backyard.

Atletico have enjoyed a fruitful summer so far, signing the likes of Joao Felix from Benfica for £114m, Marcos Llorente from Real Madrid for £36m and Kieran Trippier from Tottenham for £20m..
